A lump in the breast! It can be daunting, even if it turns out to be benign. Breast fibroadenomas are painless, benign (non-cancerous) breast tumor that is a solid, not fluid-filled, lump. It occurs most commonly in women between the age of 14 to 35 years but can be found at any age. Fibroadenomas shrink after menopause, and therefore, are less common in post-menopausal women.
Fibroadenomas are often referred to as a breast mouse due to their high mobility. Fibroadenomas are a marble-like mass comprising both epithelial and stromal tissues located under the skin of the breast. These firm, rubbery masses with regular borders are often variable in size. The most important differentiating point with carcinomatous mass is they are movable.
Fibroadenoma usually grows during pregnancy and tends to shrink during menopause hence there is a possible correlation with hormonal imbalance
Most of the time it is accidentally discovered in BSE (Breast Self Examination). The best time to practice BSE is a few days after your menstrual period.
A fibroadenoma can be confused with:
Breast cyst
Breast carcinoma
Phyllodes tumor
Breast lymphoma
Metastasis to the breast from another primary site
Diagnosis can be made by A mammogram uses x-rays to evaluate the suspicious masses in women above 35 years of age. Fibroadenoma on a mammogram appears as a distinct area from other breast tissue, with smooth round edges.
Nowadays Ultrasound ( High resolution) is used to detect mass at the breast and to differentiate with other pathology.
Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) is recommended to determine whether the lump is cancer.

The most important fear for which women visit a physician is fear of cancer, but a well-diagnosed case of fibroadenoma never turn into cancer.

This particular case was of one of my known. She has been suffering from a lump at the breast for a few months, but due to hesitation was not visiting a physician. When the condition has not self resolved then she visited at the clinic of Dr.Ravi at Balrampur as her husband has been cured by Dr.Ravi for multiple kidney stones. She has been advised for Ultrasound and that has been done after 2 weeks ( due to hesitation). USG report revealed FEW WELL DEFINED ECOGENIC NODULAR SHADOWS ( LARGEST 32 * 22 MM ) WITH SURROUNDING MINIMAL THICK FLUID IN THE UPPER - INNER QUADRANT OF THE LEFT BREAST- ....? INFLAMMATORY PATHOLOGY/?FIBROADENOMAS
Her treatment process has been started with the method of medicine transmission through hair and her fibroadenoma got resolved quickly.

After 6 Months and 2 Days

Although she has been cured much earlier as there was no facility of female Sonologist at Balrampur, she was hesitating for an ultrasound. Anyhow she got her ultrasound scan and that has given her sigh of relief. On ultrasound, there has been no lum or mass detected in both the breast.
Report says; NORMAL APPEARING BREAST
