Seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory disorder affecting areas of the head and trunk where sebaceous glands are most prominent. Our skin contains two types of glands Sebaceous gland, which secretes sebum or oil which has two main functions to make skin lubrication and making it waterproof and the other is the Sweat gland which is meant for temperature regulation.When there is excess sebum production due to overactivity of gland it blocks the skin pores and subsequent inflammation of the skin hence is the name SEBORRHOEIC DERMATITIS.
Superadded infection or melasma fungus makes the condition worse.There are many or one of the factors like genetic, environmental and general health factors, contribute to this disorder. One of the characteristics of seborrheic dermatitis is dandruff, characterized by a fine, powdery white scale on the scalp. Many patients complain of the scalp itching with dandruff, and because they think that the scale arises from dry skin, they decrease the frequency of shampooing, which allows further scale accumulation. Inflammation then occurs and their symptoms worsen.
To my experience mental stress are the cause and aggravating factor in almost all cases. The stress of disease or due to cosmetic problem add fuel in the fire. Scalp seborrhea varies from mild dandruff to dense, diffuse, adherent scale. Facial and trunk seborrhea is characterized by the powdery or greasy scale in skin folds ( like nasolabial fold, behind and inside ear pinna), at eyebrows and along hair margins. Sometimes patients may present with the issue of severe hair fall. Allopathic medication includes antifungal drugs and topical application of Ketakonazol but long term results are not promising. Rohit Taneja has visited my clinic at Lucknow on 14th Mar 2019, from Rudrapur (Uttra Khand). He was very depressed when he came to Dr. Ravi Singh' clinic and was nearly hopeless due to disease . He came with complaints of scaly, and itchy rash on the skin along with hair loss. He was suffering from this ugly disease for more than 15 years and he also reported flaking of the skin and itching at the scalp. He feels itching in these eruptions over the scalp and when scratched there is waxy discharge from these eruptions. He complained of oily skin and there was stubborn dandruff. He have to shampoo his hair daily to avoid problems related to scalp but still there was no effect. He consulted many doctors, gone through many medication and treatments but there was no effective results seen in his condition. He came to know about Dr. Ravi Singh and consulted him. After a thorough case study and examination, Dr. Ravi diagnosed his problem as a case of Seborrhoeic Dermatitis and started treatment for it.

After 1 Month and 16 Days
According to the Junior Doctor Mr. Taneja feeling well, dandruff relived , dermatitis better than before, appetite good , thirst good, all complaints better by 40% to 50%. Less scalp scaling more on beard, Scaling on beard are not in appearance but when used to rub it felt a little bit roughness just like he applied a bit of powder on the face by rubbing more on the scalp dandruff like structure drop down, The same problem is with beard but the size of scalp of beard is large and there is feeling much itching , the hair is very thin on scalp , relief in hair fall than before , some pimples type thing seen on scalp, not much but painful by touching it , get some relief after using Aloe Vera gel.
After 3 Months and 12 Days
Feed back taken by junior doctor - Dandruff increased , motion better than before but persist SEBORRHOIC DERMATITIS - better up to 70% now static, fear from the height , feeling well, dandruff relived , dermatitis better than before, appetite good , thirst good, all complaints better by 70%. The problem is same with beard but the size of scalp of beard is large and there is feeling much itching , the hair is very thin on scalp , relief in hair fall than before , some pimples type thing seen on scalp, not much but painful by touching it.
After 4 Months and 24 Days
According to the Junior Doctor Mr. Taneja feeling well, dandruff and itching problem is increasing, hair fall issue , dermatitis better than before, appetite good ,thirst good, all complaints better by 50%.
After 6 Months and 8 Days
There are positive results in the problem of Psoriasis in the head and beard. The process of disease has slowed down. The white layer is still coming in the beard portion near the neck while the brown colored layer is coming down from the middle part of the head. Earlier there was severe burning and itching in the head, now it has decreased but sometimes itching is felt. Hair growth is slow and thickness is less. After cutting the beard, it was seen that some of the hairs have not grown in a small patch Skin peeling better Burning better White scaling around beard region Sometime mild itch in seb .dermat. After 7 Months and 21 Days
According to the patient there are positive results in the problem - Dandruff - better but persist seborrhoic dermatitis - better up to 60% , Tinea - much better , but persist .
After 8 Months and 23 Days

After 10 Months and 6 Days
Follow up taken by junior doctor on 14th January 2020, he reported improvement in his seborrheic dermatitis. The itching and scaling were better. Almost he got rid of itching, flaky skin and dandruff over the scalp. There was only few eruptions left. He reported that sometimes there is itching on the scalp and suddenly eruptions arises all over. He also complained of excess hair fall. Dr. Ravi made changes in the treatment for better recovery.
After 10 Months and 27 Days
Follow up taken by junior doctor on 4th February 2020, He has reported that there was relief initially in the dandruff condition and also in the crust and scabs, but now problem again increasing. The itching and scaling were better.There was only few eruptions left. He reported that sometimes there is itching on the scalp and suddenly eruptions arises all over. He also complained of excess hair fall.
After 1 Year and 14 Days
Telephonic feed back taken by junior doctor - The patient is feeling much better than earlier but hair fall was there on oiling. Dandruff was reduced than earlier but it comes whenever he wear a cap. Dermatitis is much at a part on scalp, hair are sticky. Tissues were reduced by 30-35%.Same medicine was continued but the power was increased. The patient was asked to report after 1 month.
After 1 Year , 2 Months and 6 Days
According to the junior doctor there is good recovery.- , he reported improvement in his seborrheic dermatitis. The itching and scaling were better. Almost he got rid of itching, flaky skin and dandruff over the scalp. There was only few eruptions left. He reported that sometimes there is itching on the scalp and suddenly eruptions arises all over.
After 1 Year , 4 Months and 3 Days
According to the junior doctor - On 14th July 2020, he sent some photographs on whatsapp to show his recovery. There was a lot of improvement seen. His scalp was free from scaly patches, red skin and stubborn dandruff. He was also free from flakes and scalp eruptions were minimal. Almost he got cured of seborrheic dermatitis but still he was going through hair fall.
After 1 Year , 5 Months and 11 Days

We have received photographs of the patient. He is very happy with the treatment outcome for the seborrhoeic Dermatitis. The case got almost cured. Happy patient.
After 1 Year , 11 Months and 12 Days
The patient reported on the phone there is some itching, although the condition is better.
After 2 Years , 9 Months and 12 Days
Dr Ravi had a conversation with patient over a zoom call. He said Seb Dermatitis is 80-90 Better. His tinea problem also got cured. Itching gone completely. Only there is slight hair fall. Only problem remaining is Alopecia barbae.
