Case Study of Hirschsprung's disease
This 20-day old child came to my clinic on 18 November 2021 after he was advised for surgery at KGMC.
Father visited at the KGMC with a reference of his known as the child was not passing the stool. His abdomen was distended, and he gave birth very few times. The child cried all day and night; hence they visited King George Medical College.
Dr advised for the barium X-ray, and on seeing the report, they recommended the surgical procedure. They said that a colostomy bag would be installed for a year, the only solution for this disease. However, they have not assured him that there will be 100 % recovery.
Such cases are not frequently seen at Homoeopathic OPD, and I was also not well aware of this disease condition. This was my first case. I shared the report with one of my Radiologist friends Dr Dheraj, and he diagnosed the condition as Hirschsprung's disease.
When I asked him about the prognosis, he said POOR.
Parents were not in the economic position for surgery and opted for my treatment.
After a detailed case history, I have transmitted Opium 0/1 as a remedy.
He made an incredible recovery from day one.

At our regular phone followup call from clinic , the parents reported that child is doing good and stool is passing daily without any trouble.
After 2 Months and 28 Days
Parents visited along with the child on 14 Feb 2022. The child was doing excellent; the abdomen is now soft and no more distended. No pain in the abdomen, and the child is sleeping well. The mother reported that the only problem remaining is the spurting stool. Dr Ravi assured her to stay positive and that too will be cured. Parents also testified about the method of medicine transmission through hair. Medicine transmission through hair cured, and the child got saved from surgery.

After 4 Months and 12 Days
Parents visited along with patient at clinic. child is doing fine till date He is passing stool regularly without any trouble. They are happy with the treatment outcome. We continued the treatment.
After 5 Months and 25 Days
We have received a video of the Child over the Whatsapp that child is doing fine and he has no gastric trouble. He is growing up and happy. we paused the treatment from our end.
After 1 Year , 3 Months and 15 Days
The Father of the child visited the Clinic on 3 March 2023. He updated that there is no trouble to the child due to Hirschsprung's Disease. Dr Ravi told him that his child's case was the first case of Hirschprung's Disease in his career and opened a path for the cure.
Many cases at the Clinic now are responding excellently to this so-called surgical Disease. This case has given a path for homoeopathy to work in this direction.
